Editor's Take
So here's the thing about KC Chic Designs-it's basically the jewelry brand that started at a kitchen table and somehow ended up being featured in InTouch Weekly. And honestly? That trajectory kind of tells you everything you need to know about what they're doing right.
The company was founded in 2016 by Klarisa Crespo, who immigrated from Kyiv, Ukraine to New York City when she was eight years old. Fast forward to April 30, 2016, and she's getting ready for a friend's 30th birthday party in Florida, can't find the right accessories, and decides-with zero jewelry-making experience-to just make her own. That's either incredibly brave or slightly unhinged, but it worked. She and her husband Tony started crafting pieces at their dining room table with their two boys helping out, and now they've got two office spaces and around 12 employees in Valrico, Florida.
What makes KC Chic different is their focus on affordable luxury. They specialize in moissanite (which passes the diamond test, by the way), 316L stainless steel, and .925 sterling silver pieces. The moissanite thing is clever-it's got a higher refractive index than diamonds, meaning more sparkle for way less money. Their jewelry is waterproof and tarnish-resistant, which is huge if you're tired of pieces that turn your skin green after one shower.
The brand has built a massive social media following-56,000 on Instagram, over 680,000 likes on TikTok-by connecting directly with customers through weekly drops, giveaways, and behind-the-scenes content. They've partnered with influencers who share discount codes (you'll see codes like "TIKTOK" floating around for savings), and they've cultivated this community vibe where customers feel like they're part of the family story. It's smart marketing, but it also seems genuine given how hands-on Klarisa and Tony remain with the business.
Their collections range from the Lux Jewelry line (timeless elegance stuff) to personalized pieces to their trending moissanite designs. Prices are positioned as accessible-not costume jewelry cheap, but not fine jewelry expensive either. They also sell through major retailers like Macy's and Walmart, which gives them broader reach beyond their online shop.
One thing to note: customer reviews are mixed. Some people rave about the quality and customer service, while others have complained about shipping delays (especially on custom orders, which can take 4-6 weeks) and partial refunds due to non-refundable shipping costs. The company ships within 5-10 business days for standard items, but moissanite pieces can take 10-15 business days since they're made to order.
But here's what's kind of cool-they're a woman-led, family-owned small business that's managed to carve out space in a crowded market by focusing on bold, statement pieces that don't require a second mortgage. Whether you're into layering necklaces, chunky hoops, or moissanite rings that look like they cost ten times what you paid, they've got options. And at the end of the day, that kitchen-table-to-two-offices story? It's the kind of thing that makes you want to root for them.
