Editor's Take

Picture this: you're scrolling through Instagram, and suddenly there's this guy in a ridiculously vibrant Hawaiian shirt that somehow looks... expensive? Classy? Like he just stepped off a yacht in Santorini rather than out of a tourist trap gift shop? That's Kenny Flowers for you-basically the anti-Tommy Bahama.

Kenny Flowers is run by Kenny Haisfield, who founded the brand in 2015 when he quit his corporate consulting job in NYC to move in with his grandma in Bali and start making Hawaiian shirts for his friends. And honestly, that origin story hits different. This isn't some corporate boardroom deciding to capitalize on "vacation vibes"-it's literally a guy who said "screw it" to consulting and went full send on tropical shirts.

The brand's whole thing is what they call "Leisure at its finest." But here's what makes them interesting: Our products are made in boutique factories in sought-after destinations Bali and Colombia. In Bali, the shirts and coverups you love are hand-cut and sewn surrounded by beautiful rice fields and coconut trees. In Colombia, our swimwear is made with amor by an all-women run factory in Colombia's capital of cool, Medellin.

What started as just men's Hawaiian shirts has evolved into this whole lifestyle brand. A few years and a few thousand shirts later, Kenny's best friend, first female customer, and now wife, Christina (luxury travel influencer and blogger Jetset Christina), expanded the brand into women's resort and swimwear. So now they've got everything from golf polos to bikinis to matching kids' stuff.

The pricing sits in that sweet spot where it's definitely not cheap-we're talking around $98-$168 for most pieces-but it's not completely insane either. And they've got this whole social responsibility angle going on: Through our partnership with CEO4Teens, an education foundation started by Kenny, we have sent more than 150 students to college in Bali, and sponsored GED's for 100+ underprivileged Americans since 2015.

Their Instagram game is pretty solid too, with 148K Followers watching Kenny and Christina basically live their best life while modeling the clothes. It's aspirational without being completely obnoxious about it.
