Editor's Take

So here's the thing about the LA Galaxy-they're basically MLS royalty, and not in that "we used to be good" way. They've got six MLS Cup championships. Six. That's more than any other team in the league, and honestly, it's kind of absurd when you think about it.

The team plays at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, this purpose-built soccer stadium that seats 27,000 people and actually feels like a proper football venue. None of that "we're playing in an NFL stadium with 60,000 empty seats" vibe. When the Galaxy are on, the place rocks with supporter groups like the Angel City Brigade bringing serious energy.

But what really sets the Galaxy apart is their history of pulling off the impossible. They convinced David Beckham to come to MLS back in 2007 when everyone thought American soccer was a joke. Then they did it again with Zlatan Ibrahimović, who showed up and immediately started scoring bicycle kicks and talking trash. Landon Donovan, the all-time leading scorer in club history, basically defined what it meant to be an American soccer star while wearing Galaxy colors.

The team's won the Supporters' Shield four times and claimed two U.S. Open Cups since kicking off in 1996 as one of MLS's founding clubs. They've been consistently competitive for nearly three decades, which in American soccer is basically forever.

And yeah, they've got a rivalry with LAFC now-El Tráfico, they call it-that's become one of the best derbies in American sports. Two LA teams, completely different vibes, genuinely don't like each other. It's the kind of thing that makes soccer fun.

The Galaxy aren't perfect. They've had down years. But they keep coming back, keep signing big names, keep winning trophies. That's what champions do.
