Editor's Take

So here's the thing about Lack of Color-it's basically what happens when two Australians decide hats don't have to be boring. Founded in 2011 by Australian creative duo, Rob and Tess, Lack of Color has reimagined the world of hats - taking a creative and nostalgic approach to a range of styles and designs. And honestly? They nailed it.

The brand's whole vibe is this interesting mix of throwback and modern. Pairing traditional shapes with modern uses of colour, texture and quality finishes, each piece creates true style moments steeped in nostalgia and crafted for limitless possibility. Think fedoras, bucket hats, cowboy hats-all the classics, but with that distinctly Australian aesthetic that somehow feels both laid-back and impossibly chic.

What's kind of cool is how they've managed to hit that sweet spot between quality and accessibility. Since its inception in 2011, Lack Of Color has been worn by bloggers and celebrities alike including Miley Cirus, Vanessa Hudgens, Gigi Hadid and Chiara Ferragni. But you don't need to be a celebrity to rock one of their pieces. The brand's found its way into wardrobes worldwide, from festival-goers to everyday hat enthusiasts who just want something that actually looks good.

The company operates primarily online, which makes sense for a modern accessories brand. They've got stockists scattered around (you can find them at places like Nordstrom, Saks, and various boutiques), but their main hub is their website where they ship worldwide. Based out of Burleigh Heads on Queensland's Gold Coast, they've got that beachy Australian energy baked right into their DNA.

And look, hats can be tricky. Too much and you look like you're trying too hard. Too little and it's just... a hat. But Lack of Color seems to get that balance right-pieces that feel special without being precious about it. With a distinctly Australian aesthetic and down-to-earth appeal, Lack of Color offers boutique designs to suit all, having found a home among the wardrobes of style icons, celebrities and hat lovers throughout the world.
