Editor's Take

So here's the thing about LOLA-they're basically what happens when women get fed up with not knowing what's actually in their tampons and decide to do something about it. Founded by women, LOLA's period and sexual wellness products are always made without synthetic fibers, fragrance, bleach, chemical additives, or dyes. And honestly? It's about time.

Founded in 2014 by Jordana Kier and Alex Friedman, LOLA is a feminine care brand that offers 100% cotton tampons via a subscription service, but they've grown way beyond just tampons. We're talking pads, liners, sexual wellness products, vaginal care-basically everything you need but probably never felt comfortable talking about until now.

What makes them different isn't just the clean ingredients (though that 100% organic cotton is pretty great). It's the whole approach. LOLA is the first lifelong brand for reproductive health, dedicated to providing you with an ever-expanding portfolio of trusted products and candid information for you to make deliberate decisions about your reproductive health. They're not just selling you stuff-they're trying to change how we talk about periods and sexual health.

The subscription model is pretty clever too. You can customize your mix of tampons and pads, choose your delivery frequency, and never have that panic moment in the drugstore aisle again. Its subscription service lets you create a box with your own mix of tampon sizes (with or without applicators, which can be either cardboard or plastic). That's something you can't do when buying off the shelf.

But here's what really gets me-they've donated over 6 million products to those in need, and continue to fight for reproductive equity. 1% of every LOLA purchase is donated to a nonprofit of your choice. So you're not just buying tampons; you're supporting a company that actually gives a damn about period poverty and women's health access.

The pricing isn't crazy either. LOLA's boxes aren't any more expensive than those bought in the store. Its 18-count box of applicator tampons is $10 per month; or it's $9 each, if ordering two or three boxes per month. When you factor in the convenience and the fact that you actually know what's in the products, it's kind of a no-brainer.
