Editor's Take

So here's the thing about LollicupStore - it's basically the Amazon of boba and restaurant supplies, except way more specialized. And when I say specialized, I mean they're sitting on 70% of all boba distribution in the United States. That's not a typo. According to the Los Angeles Times, this Chino, California-based operation has cornered nearly three-quarters of the bubble tea market.

But LollicupStore isn't just about those chewy tapioca pearls everyone's obsessed with. Walk through their virtual aisles and you'll find everything from eco-friendly takeout containers to industrial-grade coffee syrups. They carry their own brands - Karat, Karat Earth, Tea Zone, and Total Clean - plus all the big names like Ghirardelli, Torani, DaVinci, and Monin. It's kind of like they looked at every possible thing a café or restaurant might need and said, "Yeah, we'll stock that."

The company started back in 2000 when founders Alan Yu and Marvin Cheng decided to ride the bubble tea wave that was sweeping through Taiwan. Smart timing, honestly. By 2013, they'd outgrown their original space and moved into a massive 300,300 square foot facility. That's not a warehouse - that's a small city of foodservice supplies. They've since added distribution centers in Texas, Washington, South Carolina, and a few other states, because apparently one giant building wasn't enough.

What's interesting is how they've positioned themselves. They're not trying to be everything to everyone - they're laser-focused on foodservice businesses. Coffee shops, tea houses, restaurants, bubble tea cafés. If you're running one of those operations, LollicupStore wants to be your one-stop shop. No minimums on most orders, bulk discounts if you need them, and they ship to all 48 continental states (sorry, Alaska and Hawaii).

The pricing model is pretty straightforward - competitive enough to keep restaurants coming back, with free shipping kicking in around $999 to $1,000 depending on the promotion. They've got volume discounts too, which makes sense when you're buying 1,000 plastic cups at a time. And they're not shy about running promotions - newsletter subscribers can snag 15% off, and there's usually some kind of seasonal deal floating around.

Here's something worth noting: they're not just resellers. Lollicup USA actually manufactures some of their own products, particularly the Karat line of disposable cups, lids, and food containers. That vertical integration probably helps them keep costs down and quality consistent.

If you're opening a boba shop or running a café, LollicupStore is probably already on your radar. They've built their reputation on having everything in stock, competitive pricing, and being the go-to source for bubble tea supplies. Just make sure you know what you're ordering, because getting it back isn't exactly a breeze.
