| | Arts & Culture | Bleak Week: Cinema of Despair - Multiple Venues (May 31 - June 7) Bleak Week, American Cinematheque’s popular series dedicated to film’s darkest tales expands to 73 cities this year. In Los Angeles, the festival features 48 films screening between May 31 and June 7 at the Aero, Egyptian and Los Feliz Theatres. Amongst them are a 25th anniversary screening of A.I.: Artificial Intelligence with special guest Haley Joel Osment, the director’s cut of Midsommer and a tribute to Isabelle Huppert, with the actress on hand for screenings of multiple films, including Heaven’s Gate. | | | | | Concerts | Belle and Sebastian - Hollywood Palladium (June 5 - 6) Belle and Sebastian spend two nights at Hollywood Palladium with each dedicated to a different, classic album from the Scottish band’s extensive discography. Friday, June 5, focuses on 1996 debut album Tigermilk, and includes support from locals Beachwood Sparks. Saturday night is dedicated to the band’s breakthrough album, If You’re Feeling Sinister, also released in ’96, with an opening set from Tyler Ballgame. Can’t decide which album you want to hear?
