"Hadestown" at the Pantages
Theatre

From local independent venues to Broadway blockbusters, there is no better city in the country to experience live theatre than Los Angeles. For a roundup of current and upcoming productions, visit the Discover LA Theatre page.

"Hadestown" - Pantages Theatre (Oct. 28 - Nov. 2)
Winner of eight Tony Awards and the GRAMMY for Best Musical Theater Album, Hadestown intertwines two mythic tales — young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice; and King Hades and his wife Persephone — and invites you on a hell-raising journey to the underworld and back. The acclaimed musical concludes its run at The Pantages with a weekend of matinees and evening performances.

"Jaja’s African Hair Braiding" - Mark Taper Forum (Oct. 28 - Nov. 2)
Jaja’s African Hair Braiding, the Tony-winning comedy set in a Harlem salon, comes to Los Angeles for a month-long run at Mark Taper Forum. The play, written by Jocelyn Bioh and directed by Whitney White, features evening and matinee performances through November 9.

"The Little King of Norwalk" - Latino Theater Co. (Oct. 30 - Nov. 2)
A tribute to Chicano identity in its many forms, The Little King of Norwalk blends satire, a touch of magical realism, and a nod to Gogol’s The Inspector General. Commissioned by Latino Theater Company and developed through its Circle of Imaginistas playwriting group, this world premiere is a modern barrio fable about power, politics and the price of survival.
