Editor's Take

So here's the thing about Maaji-it's not just another swimwear brand trying to sell you bikinis. Founded by sisters Amalia and Manuela in Colombia, the brand has grown into a global lifestyle powerhouse with over 20 years of colorful design. And when I say colorful, I mean it. These aren't your basic black one-pieces.

What really sets them apart? The reversible thing. Their swimwear is eco-friendly, sustainable, and frequently reversible, or even better - 4 ways to wear it in 1. Basically, you're getting multiple swimsuits for the price of one, which is kind of genius when you think about packing for vacation. Flip it inside out, and boom-new look.

But there's more to the story. As a B Corp certified company, Maaji champions creativity, quality, and ethical practices - with every piece crafted by its team of beloved Maajic Makers. They call their employees "Maajic Makers," which sounds a bit cheesy until you realize this B Corp certified company has over 350 employees who are actually paid living wages and work in ethical conditions. That's not just marketing fluff-it's verified through their B Corp certification.

The Colombian connection runs deep here. Maaji is consciously manufactured in Colombia, their beautiful home, and their label proudly reads: Made in Colombia with Maajic. The ocean-inspired prints and vibrant colors aren't random-they're pulled straight from Colombia's landscapes and culture. And they're not just taking from their environment; they're giving back through beach cleanups and sustainability initiatives.

Here's what's interesting: Maaji is present in more than 57 countries and has 15 stand-alone stores across the Americas, relying on partners such as Nordstrom, Revolve, Galeries Lafayette, Corte Ingles, Amazon, Zappos, Neiman Marcus, Anthropologie, and Bloomingdale's. That's serious distribution for a brand that started with two sisters and a dream.

The fit is apparently legit too. People who actually swim in their swimsuits (not just pose) seem to love them. The prints are bold-think tropical florals, geometric patterns, neon color blocking-the kind of stuff that photographs well but also holds up when you're actually in the water.

And if you're into the whole sustainability angle, they're walking the walk. Recycled fabrics, reduced water consumption, carbon footprint tracking-the whole nine yards. Plus that reversible design philosophy? It's not just clever marketing; it's actually reducing waste by giving you more versatility per piece.
