Returns

What is the return window?
You have 30 days from receiving your mahabis to return your products for a refund or exchange. Items bought in the Summer Sale are eligible to be returned for an exchange or refund within 14 days of receiving the goods, in their original condition and packaging.

Do I need a receipt to return an item?
You will need your order number to be able to start your return (you'll find your order number in your order confirmation email, or on the packing slip you receive with your order).

Are there any items that are non-returnable?
Refunds do not extend to gift cards and our gift boxes, or gift wrapping service or personalised products. In order for us to accept your return, your mahabis must be unworn, unwashed and the box must be intact, and they must be packed properly with the despatch note included.

How will I receive my refund?
Refunds should take no-longer than 7-10 days following receipt and refunds are made to the original payment method only. As this is a manual process, please allow up to 10 working days for us to process the refund and for the funds to be available in your account.

Who pays for return shipping?
It is free for you to exchange your items with us if you are in the UK. If you are returning from a non-UK country or returning your item(s) for a refund, you will be charged a small fee in the returns portal towards the cost of your return.

Editor's Take

So here's the thing about Mahabis-they basically took one look at the slipper market and said "we can do better than this." And honestly? They kind of did.

Founded in 2014 in London, Mahabis set out to reinvent what most people thought was pretty much perfect already: the humble house slipper. But they had this vision, right? They wanted to create something that blended Scandinavian minimalism with innovative comfort technology, and the result was this whole new category of footwear that's somehow both ridiculously cozy and surprisingly versatile.

The signature feature-and this is what really sets them apart-is the detachable rubber sole. It sounds gimmicky at first, but think about it. You're padding around your house in these soft, comfortable slippers, and then you need to run outside to grab the mail or take out the trash. Instead of changing shoes or doing that awkward shuffle in your house slippers, you just snap on the sole and go. It's one of those "why didn't anyone think of this before" moments.

They've expanded way beyond that original design now. The collection includes everything from felted wool slippers to lightweight summer styles, sandals, and what they call "all-day footwear." Each piece is handmade, with production happening in Portugal, and they ship to over 70 countries worldwide. The brand has racked up some serious credentials too-they won the Best Innovation in Footwear award at the 2015 Drapers Footwear Awards, beating out Adidas and Saucony, which is pretty impressive for a startup slipper company.

What makes Mahabis interesting isn't just the product-it's the whole philosophy. They talk about "footwear for time well spent" and creating pieces that elevate your downtime. There's this focus on comfort having a far-reaching impact on your physical, mental, and emotional well-being, which sounds a bit lofty for slippers, but when you think about how much time we actually spend at home, it starts to make sense.

The materials are premium-think Italian nubuck leather, cloud-soft sheepswool, water-resistant canvas, and breathable mesh. They're committed to sustainability too, using natural and recycled materials where possible, offsetting their carbon footprint, and offering a recycling program for old slippers. And with over 42,000 reviews on Trustpilot averaging 4 stars, it's clear they've built a pretty loyal following despite the bumpy journey.

Whether you're a full-on "slippers person" or someone who's never really seen the point, Mahabis makes a compelling case that maybe, just maybe, your feet deserve something better than whatever you've been shuffling around in.
