Returns
What is the return window?
Mattress Warehouse offers a one-time comfort exchange on most brands within 120 days of delivery and pickup. The exchange must take place within 120 days of delivery/pick up, except where the manufacturer specifies a longer time frame.
Do I need a receipt to return an item?
Yes, please be sure to bring your receipt and a valid photo ID when you pick up your order. While this specifically mentions pickup, receipts are typically required for all transactions including returns.
Are there any items that are non-returnable?
Adjustable bases, pillows, protectors and frames are not eligible for comfort exchange. Please note that stained or torn mattresses are excluded from the comfort exchange. All sales on Clearance merchandise are final with no returns or exchanges unless shipping-related damage has been noted at the time of delivery.
How will I receive my refund?
The customer will receive 100 percent credit of their original purchase toward the current ticketed price of the replacement mattress. The exchange must be of equal or greater value; no refunds will be given and they are responsible for any difference above and beyond the amount of your credit.
How do I start a return online?
If, after 30 days, you are not satisfied with the comfort of your original selection, simply contact us to begin the process for your one-time comfort exchange. If you have any questions regarding our policy or would like to speak to someone about an exchange, please contact [email protected] or call 1-877-619-5838. To file a claim, visit mattresswarehouse.com or visit your local Mattress Warehouse.

So here's the thing about Mattress Warehouse-they're basically the scrappy underdog that somehow became America's largest independent mattress retailer. And honestly? That's kind of impressive when you think about it.
Started in 1989 in a tiny 1,200-square-foot space in Frederick, Maryland (with their first warehouse literally being a self-storage unit), they've grown to over 500 locations. But what really sets them apart isn't just the size-it's this whole bedMATCH thing they've got going on.
Picture this: you walk into most mattress stores and it's all about the sales pitch, right? But Mattress Warehouse has this patented diagnostic system that actually analyzes your body and spits out personalized recommendations. It's like having a sleep scientist instead of just another commissioned salesperson trying to upsell you on the most expensive option.
The company recently made headlines by acquiring 176 stores from Tempur Sealy-73 former Mattress Firm locations and 103 Sleep Outfitters stores. That's a pretty bold move that pushed them past the 500-location milestone. And they're not slowing down, with new stores popping up everywhere from West Orange, New Jersey to Davenport, Florida.
What I find refreshing is their approach to customer service. They offer this one-time comfort exchange within 120 days (though you have to sleep on it for at least 30 nights first-smart move to avoid impulse returns). Plus, they've got that price match guarantee that lasts a full year after purchase. That's confidence in their pricing.
Their bedMATCH system uses 18 different measurements to recommend mattresses, which sounds way more scientific than the usual "lie down and see how it feels" approach. And with brands like Tempur-Pedic, Serta, Sealy, and Purple in their lineup, they're not messing around with quality.
The company culture seems pretty solid too-they emphasize being locally owned and operated, supporting local economies. It's that whole "every time you shop here, you're supporting local business" angle that actually feels genuine rather than just marketing speak.
