Returns

What is the return window?
Maurices happily accepts returns anytime with your original receipt or order number. You can return your items whenever you want, as long as you have your original receipt or order number. This is one of the most generous return policies in retail, with no specific time limit.

Do I need a receipt to return an item?
You can bring your return with the original receipt or order number to any maurices store. Don't have the receipt or order number? We'll give you a merchandise credit for the current price.

Are there any items that are non-returnable?
All evsie™ items are final sale and cannot be returned for a refund or exchange. Respectfully, we may refuse returns for items that have been visibly worn or damaged, or if there appears to be fraud or abuse. Panties cannot be returned if the tag has been removed. Swimsuits cannot be returned if the hygienic liner has been removed.

How will I receive my refund?
You will receive the refund on the original form of payment. If you return your items online, you will receive your refund within 1-4 business days. If you purchased an item with your credit card, the refund will be issued to your credit account.

Can I return online purchases in-store?
Bring your return with the original receipt or order number to any maurices store. If the item was purchased online, please bring the original packaging - your order number will be on your package address label or packing slip (if included). The order number can also be found in your order emails and in your online account at maurices.com.

Editor's Take

Here's the thing about Maurices-it's basically the anti-fashion-snob of women's clothing retailers. And that's kind of the whole point.

Since their founding in the heart of the Midwest over 90 years ago, they've valued making a difference in the lives of women who are the heart of our hometowns. Today they're 9,000+ strong - a company of passionate, engaged people who value a collaborative culture. But what really sets them apart is this: they're not trying to be New York or LA. They're proudly small-town, with stores scattered across 850+ communities where they actually understand that real women need clothes for real life-not just Instagram moments.

The size thing is huge. Maurices offers a wide selection of women's clothing from sizes 0-24, which means they're not treating plus-size fashion like an afterthought shoved in the back corner. It's all integrated, all front and center, all part of the same aesthetic. You know how some stores make you feel like you need to apologize for existing above a size 12? Yeah, Maurices isn't that.

And here's where it gets interesting-they've managed to nail this sweet spot between affordable and actually cute. They offer free shipping on orders over $50, which is pretty standard these days, but their pricing strategy is more about volume and accessibility than luxury markup. Think jeans that don't require a payment plan, dresses you can wear to work without looking like you're trying too hard, and those random accessories that somehow pull an entire outfit together.

The business model is fascinating, really. While other retailers were abandoning small-town America for suburban mega-malls, Maurices doubled down on being the hometown store. They're in places where they might be one of the only fashion retailers for miles. That creates loyalty-the kind you can't buy with Instagram ads. Women in these communities know the staff by name, and the staff actually remember what you bought last month.

But they're not stuck in 1995 either. They've got a solid online presence, a rewards program that actually makes sense (100 points equals $5-simple math, no weird tiers), and they've figured out the omnichannel thing where you can return online purchases in-store without anyone making it feel like you're committing a crime.

The vibe is "feel good fashion for real life," which sounds like marketing speak but actually translates pretty well to the racks. You're not going to find avant-garde runway pieces or investment handbags. You're going to find the perfect flannel shirt, jeans that fit actual human bodies, and that dress that works for both your cousin's wedding and date night if you swap the shoes.

What's maybe most telling is their return policy-they accept returns anytime with your receipt. Not 30 days, not 60 days. Anytime. That's either incredibly confident or slightly insane, but it speaks to a company that's betting on customer satisfaction over protecting themselves from serial returners.

So yeah, Maurices isn't trying to be Nordstrom or Zara. They're trying to be the store where you can walk in on a Tuesday afternoon, find jeans that actually fit, chat with someone who remembers you, and walk out feeling pretty good about the whole experience. In an era of fast fashion burnout and online shopping fatigue, that's honestly kind of refreshing.
