Player of the Game has grown into more than just a simple postgame nod, with many teams across sports now passing around a prop or hat to recognize a deserving teammate. Inspired by a message from General Manager Bill Guerin about the strength of Redwood trees, the Wild put their own spin on the tradition. A Redwood-style hat is awarded after each win to the player who best embodies a team-first mentality, recognizing the little things that don’t always show up on the scoresheet.
