Editor's Take

So here's the thing about Minted-it's basically what happens when you take the traditional greeting card aisle and completely flip it on its head. Instead of mass-produced designs from big corporations, you're getting artwork from independent artists scattered across the globe. And honestly? The difference is pretty striking.

Minted's community of independent artists and designers are located in all 50 states and over 100 countries. That's not just marketing speak-you can actually see it in the designs. Where Hallmark might give you ten variations of "Happy Birthday" in Times New Roman, Minted's got everything from watercolor botanicals to minimalist line drawings to quirky illustrated characters.

The business model is kind of genius, actually. Consumer voting and expert curation place your work among the finest. Artists enjoy the flexibility of deciding how they want to work with us and the freedom to follow their own creative direction. Customers vote on which designs they want to see produced, so there's this built-in market validation before anything goes to print. Winners receive an up-front cash prize and keep 6%-10% of every sale featuring their work.

But here's what really sets them apart-the quality. We use the finest and highest quality paper stock, inks, and equipment. Experience the art of heirloom-quality printing with a technique like foil-press or photo mount. Every card is handcrafted with intention, care, and skill, from the first set of hands it passes through to the last. You can actually feel the difference when you hold one of their cards.

The wedding market is where they really shine. Meet one-on-one for free with a wedding expert who can help you achieve your vision. They've got this whole ecosystem-save the dates, invitations, websites, day-of signage. And since everything comes from the same design, your whole wedding aesthetic stays cohesive without you having to coordinate between different vendors.

What's interesting is how they've expanded beyond just cards. The company also offers art and home décor, including art prints, framed photos, nursery art, wall murals, ceramics, and textiles. So that gorgeous botanical design on your wedding invitation? You can get it as wall art for your home too.

The artist community aspect is pretty cool. We invite members of our community to escape for an annual Camp Minted retreat, à la summer camps of our youth. This space, for artists to connect and renew their inspiration, is one of our community's favorite things about Minted. It's not just transactional-they're actually building relationships with their creators.
