Iron & Wine is the musical project of singer-songwriter Sam Beam. Born and raised in South Carolina, Beam is a former film professor who got his start making home recordings before landing on Sub Pop Records. Iron & Wine's 2002 debut, The Creek Drank the Cradle garnered both critical and popular acclaim, vaulting Beam into the spotlight of the burgeoning indie-folk/Americana scene as one of its new and leading voices.

For over 20 years, Iron & Wine has captured the emotion and imagination of listeners with distinctly cinematic songs. His recorded output includes seven full-length studio records, collaborations with Calexico, Ben Bridwell (Band of Horses), and Jesca Hoop, countless EP's, singles and compilation/soundtrack appearances, a live concert documentary, and five GRAMMY nominations.

Iron & Wine's latest record, Light Verse was released in April 2024 with Paste Magazine noting "… Beam returns with an expanded sonic palette while also rekindling the bright spark that made 2007's The Shepherd's Dog so magical."

The stunning Englert Theatre is the IDEAL setting for the glamour and historical resonance of burlesque set to a live jazz band. The Englert and the Blake Shaw Quintet bring a bygone era to life while our performers give the show an electric modern twist. Live band burlesque shows are an adventure in cross-disciplinary art. When you watch a burlesque performer dance with a live band, you're watching a whip-fast dialogue between dancer and musician, between movement and sound. 

Audiences should plan to dress to the nines because the Englert will be the elegant backdrop for free, professionally edited photos by Madame Ether Photography of everyone who attends! VIP ticket holders will get a professionally edited photo of their party AND with the cast at intermission, as well as the best seats in the house & a host of other gifts. Bawdy Bawdy Ha Ha knows how to balance hot performances and cool jazz with a hilarious host -- and Aunt Nance from Chicago is one of the funniest comedians in the business. Audiences can expect to laugh, groove, gasp, and witness performances that are completely unique and can never be repeated again. It's that ephemerality that makes live band burlesque so special. You have to BE THERE to experience the magic! Burlesque is our favorite art form because it gives audiences the opportunity to enjoy raunchy, funny, inherently political, & outrageously hot explorations of sexuality on the performers' own terms. It's a safe space to celebrate marginalized people--women, people of color, queer and gender diverse people--doing what they want to do with their bodies.
