MISSION CREEK 2025 MUSIC VENUE GUIDE

Mission Creek takes over downtown Iowa City this weekend! Read below to find out who's playing where, and make your Mission Creek plan. Check out the full festival lineup and schedule at missioncreekfestival.com.

The Englert Theatre

The Englert is the central hub of Mission Creek, where pass pick-up and purchase is. The Mission Creek VIP lounge is housed here for Insider Pass holders. All Englert performances are included with a festival pass.

Must-see performances:
-Wu-Tang's Raekwon 'The Chef' performs his monumental album 'Only Built 4 Cuban Linx...' on Saturday, April 5th
-Mannequin Pussy stops on their I Got Heaven Tour to headline the festival on Friday, April 4th

Hancher Auditorium

Thursday of Mission Creek is all about Hancher! The entirety of the Thursday lineup takes place at Hancher auditorium, with both literary and music performances. Hancher performances are included with a festival pass.

Must-see performance:
Kim Gordon was just announced as the new headliner at Hancher Auditorium! She brings her full band and boasts a GRAMMY-nominated catalogue, don't miss her headlining set at Hancher!

Gabe's

Catch the late set at Gabe's! This venue is standing-room only, and features music to dance to! Gabe's features a full bar and late sets, so you can catch a Gabe's set after headlining performances at The Englert. Performances at Gabe's are accessible with a festival pass.

Must-see performances:
The Tanks and Supersonic Piss are two Iowa City punk bands getting back together for the 20th Mission Creek! These Mission Creek veterans were fundamental during the early years of the festival, and it's a super special opportunity to witness their reunions this year on Saturday, don't miss it!

Riverside Theatre

Come experience live music at Riverside! The venue, which typically features theatrical productions, features new music performances at Mission Creek. This is a seated venue which features instrumental music and R&B at Mission Creek this year. Riverside performances are accessible with a festival pass.

Must-see performance:
Virtuosic drummer Mark Guiliana performs a solo set on Saturday. With a background in jazz and rock, this high level of drumming doesn't come to Iowa City often. If you like instrumental grooves, this is the show for you.

ReUnion Brewery

ReUnion Brewery opens up their upstairs stage for Mission Creek Festival on Saturday! Back due to popular demand, their Venue Hopper brew will be available for purchase at all bars throughout Mission Creek Festival. Also, this venue is FREE to the public!

Must-see performance:
Mission Creek vet Ion Alexakis performs a Hip-Hop set at ReUnion this year! With a long resume of opening credits, the Iowa City rapper is sure to bring some heaters this Creek.

The Tuesday Agency

Located in The Chauncey, the Tuesday Agency is anther free venue this year! Returning to Mission Creek after a hiatus, this venue features local and traveling songwriters with impactful music sure to touch the soul.

Must-see performance:
Alexis Stevens is an early Mission Creek veteran, returning to Iowa City from Nashville. She has honed her songwriting skills over the years, and this performance will be evidence of that. Also, plan to stick around after her set for something special...

Trumpet Blossom Cafe

Returning to Mission Creek as a free venue, Trumpet Blossom's lineup will not disappoint! This venue fills quickly, so make sure to arrive early for performances you want to see. All performances are open to the public on Saturday, April 5th.

Must-see performance:
As Mission Creek celebrates its 20th year, Sam Locke Ward is another Mission Creek veteran the community is excited to hear from. Boasting a large cataloge of music, Sam's set is a great way to start off your Saturday at the festival.
