In 2025, The Englert celebrated its 20th anniversary as a nonprofit performing arts organization. We also turned a new page: launching the inaugural Iowa City Songwriters Festival. This year, The Englert presented more than 100 events and 196 artists, 81 of whom are based right here in Iowa. These performances graced not only The Englert’s historic stage but venues and gathering spaces throughout our community.
Now more than ever, we need independent venues and safe spaces to experience art. We need beauty, laughter, awe and togetherness. The Englert remains committed to being a pillar of our community as it grows and changes through these times and we need your support to keep that momentum going. Our mission is to ensure that art stays at the heart of the community in Iowa City - now, and for generations to come.
