Who should I contact if I have questions about my booking?
If you have questions about how to complete a booking, make changes to an existing booking, payment issues, cancellations, refunds, baggage questions, meal preferences, seating preferences or questions regarding what you can or cannot bring on the plane, you should always contact the supplier directly or check the airline's website. You should be able to find the supplier's contact details in your booking confirmation or on their website.
What if my booking was canceled?
If your booking was canceled, the supplier with whom you booked will offer a new ticket at a new price or offer you a full refund. As momondo is a free global travel search site, canceled flights are out of our control.
Where is my booking confirmation?
As a free global travel search site momondo does not have any information about your booking details or your booking confirmation. If you haven't yet received a booking confirmation from the supplier you have made your booking with, we suggest you do the following: Check your spam or trash email folders as sometimes unrecognized messages can end up here rather than in your inbox.
How will I receive my refund?
If your booking was canceled, the supplier with whom you booked will offer a new ticket at a new price or offer you a full refund. As momondo is a free global travel search site, canceled flights are out of our control. Therefore, if your flight was canceled and you need help or have questions, you should contact the supplier directly to see what alternate options are available to you.
Editor's Take
So here's the thing about Momondo-it's not actually a place you book flights. Kind of wild, right? Most people think they're buying tickets through the site, but Momondo is basically the ultimate comparison shopper for travel. It's a global travel search site comparing flights, hotels and car rental deals. They don't sell flight tickets, hotel rooms or car rental deals - they show you an overview of available travel options, the latest available prices and let you choose the offer you prefer.
Founded in Denmark and launched in September 2006, momondo was acquired by Booking Holdings for $550 million in July 2017. That's a pretty serious price tag for a search engine, but here's why it makes sense. They find and compare fares from more than 1,000 airlines and travel sites, giving you the best rates. And unlike some sketchy sites that jack up prices based on your search history, momondo is completely free to use - with no hidden charges or fees - and the prices you see are never affected by your searches, no matter how many you make.
The company's gotten some serious recognition over the years. In 2020, momondo won Focus Money Awards for top flight search engine, top flight search, top website, top flight deals, top customer service, and top value. But what really set them apart was their marketing. Remember that viral DNA Journey video from 2016? The campaign invited 67 participants from around the world to take a DNA test, with the video uploaded to YouTube. The campaign won 43 awards, including seven Cannes Lions and four Clio awards. That's the kind of thing that gets people talking-and it worked.
Now, here's where it gets a bit tricky. Because Momondo doesn't actually handle bookings, if something goes wrong with your trip, you can't call them to fix it. Momondo is a free global travel search site. They help you plan your trip, but they don't handle bookings or take payment. Once you've found what you are looking for, they redirect you to the relevant online travel agency or airline to complete your booking. So basically, they're the middleman who introduces you to the seller, then steps back.
The platform's become especially popular in Europe, where it started, but it's grown to serve travelers across more than 30 international markets. And the vision behind it? They think everybody should be able to travel the world. Their vision is of a world where our differences are a source of inspiration and development, not intolerance and prejudice. Pretty idealistic for a flight search engine, but that's kind of their whole vibe.
One thing worth noting-Momondo's now managed by KAYAK, which is part of the massive Booking Holdings empire. So while it maintains its own colorful, quirky brand identity (seriously, their website is like a rainbow exploded), it's backed by some serious corporate muscle. That means the technology is solid, the search results are comprehensive, and you're getting access to deals from hundreds of sources all at once.
Bottom line? If you're hunting for cheap flights and want to see all your options laid out without doing the legwork yourself, Momondo's a solid tool. Just remember-once you click through to book, you're on your own with whoever's actually selling the ticket.
