Returns

What is the return window?
If you're not happy with your purchase for any reason, you can return it to Monoprice within 30 days of delivery date for a replacement or refund for any Monoprice Branded Product. For most third-party non-Monoprice-branded products, there is a 14-day return window allowing you to return the item for a refund if it doesn't meet your expectations.

Do I need a receipt to return an item?
All product returns require a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number, and once created, you will have 30 days to return the item(s) to Monoprice. To request your RMA number, you need to log into your account, or if you checked out as a guest, you will need to create an account using the same email address or contact customer service.

Are there any items that are non-returnable?
Consumable/1-time use items, such as disposable batteries, universal battery packs, inkjet or toner cartridges, cleaning products, screen protectors, heat shrink tubing, thermal paste, and zip ties, can only be returned for a replacement of the same item if deemed defective by Monoprice. Products such as hand sanitizer and protective face masks or other essential products are not refundable.

How will I receive my refund?
Your refund will go back to the original payment method used for the purchase. For refunds, it takes up to seven business days for a refund to be posted back to the original payment method; or for store credit or check, up to fourteen business days to be processed and issued.

Who pays for return shipping?
Shipping and handling cost is not refundable. However, if return of a defective item is requested by Monoprice, you will be emailed a pre-paid UPS return shipping label to return the defective item.

Editor's Take

So here's the thing about Monoprice-they're basically the tech world's best-kept secret that isn't really a secret anymore. Established in 2002, they've built a stellar reputation for product excellence and customer service, offering over 7,000 high-quality, affordable electronics and accessories to professionals and consumers worldwide, with a proven business model that eliminates entire layers of markup within the supply chain.

Think about the last time you needed an HDMI cable. You probably walked into a big-box store and saw them priced at $40, $50, maybe more. And you kind of knew you were getting ripped off, but what choice did you have? That's exactly the problem Monoprice set out to solve. They cut out the middleman-no fancy packaging, no retail markup, just quality cables and electronics at prices that actually make sense.

But here's where it gets interesting. They're not just about cables anymore. Sure, that's how they made their name (and honestly, their HDMI cables are legendary among tech enthusiasts), but they've expanded into pretty much everything you'd need for a home office, entertainment setup, or even a recording studio. We're talking monitors, keyboards, 3D printers, audio equipment, gaming accessories, office furniture-the works. Their range spans from standard PC products and network cables to custom cable assemblies and wiring harnesses.

The company operates out of a 173,000 square-foot warehouse in California, and as of 2013, they were already a $120 million-a-year business. That's not small potatoes for a company that basically said "hey, what if we just sold good stuff cheap?"

What really sets them apart is their approach to quality. Notice how some budget brands feel... budget? Monoprice doesn't really do that. Their stuff works. It's not flashy, it's not going to win design awards, but a cable is a cable, and theirs transmit data just as well as the ones costing five times as much. They've even expanded into their premium Monolith line for audiophiles who want that extra performance without the audiophile price tag.

And look, they're not perfect. Customer service can be hit or miss according to reviews, and their website isn't winning any awards for user experience. But when you're saving 70% on a cable that does the exact same job, you tend to forgive a few rough edges. Plus, they offer a 30-day return policy on their branded products, which shows they stand behind what they sell.

The really smart thing they did? They built a community. Tech nerds love them because they deliver on the promise of "why pay more for the same thing?" IT professionals swear by them for bulk orders. Home theater enthusiasts recommend them constantly. It's basically become the default answer when someone asks "where should I buy cables?" on any tech forum.

Bottom line: Monoprice took one of retail's biggest ripoffs-overpriced cables and accessories-and just... fixed it. No gimmicks, no nonsense, just fair prices for quality products. In a world where everything seems designed to extract maximum profit, that's kind of refreshing.
