| Since the 1960s, the Monterey Jazz Festival has brought blues legends like Muddy Waters, Big Mama Thornton, T-Bone Walker, B.B. King, and Buddy Guy to the Arena on Saturday afternoon. We’ve continued that tradition through recent years by presenting contemporary blues artists like Gary Clark Jr., Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Larkin Poe, and many others.
In 2025, MJF brings back Mr. Sipp to the Arena, one of the most memorable blues artists from the last decade. Another up-and coming artist, JC Smith, will make his Monterey Jazz Festival debut on the Garden Stage.
