A Letter From Our Founder

My Dear My Girl Community, As many of you know, on January 7th,...

My Dear My Girl Community,

As many of you know, on January 7th, fires began tearing through much of Los Angeles, CA. Thousands of families have lost everything and are now tragically displaced. On the morning of the 8th, I woke up to the devastating news that our new family home—the one we were just days away from moving into—had burned to the ground, along with much of the beautiful Pacific Palisades community.
This wasn’t just a house for me; it was the start of something new. It was a dream that felt so “right” in every sense—a chance to build a safe, loving home for my children and a fresh beginning filled with hope. To lose it so suddenly has been beyond heartbreaking. Yet, even through my grief, I’m reminded of how fortunate we are to have each other and to be safe. My heart aches for those who have lost so much more.

I share this deeply personal experience not for sympathy but as a reflection: A new year doesn’t always promise a fresh start or your “best year yet.” Sometimes it brings challenges that break us down before building us back up. Life doesn’t always make sense, but I’m turning to faith and community for strength.

My heart is shattered for Los Angeles and everyone affected by these fires—for the physical and emotional loss, and for the uncertainty left behind. But one thing these fires cannot take from us is our humanity—the way we unite, the way we help one another through unimaginable times.

This is where we can make a difference.
No act is too small. Whether it’s $5, sharing resources, donating belongings, or helping displaced animals, every effort counts. Below are a few ways you can contribute:

Ways to Help:
  • Donate to the Los Angeles Fire Department to support the heroes fighting these fires.
  • Donate to Baby2Baby to provide clothes, diapers, and essentials to children and families.
  • Check out the LA Times list of ways to help for more resources and opportunities.
If You’ve Been Affected:
  • Babyletto is offering free cribs to families who’ve lost their homes. Email [email protected].
  • Bobbie is providing free baby formula to those in need—apply here.
  • Santa Monica clothing and supplies relief pick up from OpenClosit
How This Affects Our Business:
Your orders will not be impacted—our fulfillment center remains fully operational and will ship within the regular 24-48 hour window. However, as I navigate this deeply personal challenge, there may be delays in customer service. Please know I will personally address every inquiry—whether it’s about a product issue, refund, or lost package. I promise to make it right.

This business is my anchor right now, and I owe it all to you. Thank you for your patience, kindness, and understanding. Let’s continue to come together as a community—to help, to heal, and to rebuild.

Stay safe, healthy, and well,
