You can’t avoid aging. But you can control some parts of the process.

This November, I'm breaking down key tips to keep your brain healthy as you get older. From socializing to new brain therapies and everything in between, here's what you should know.

Let's dive in!

1. Aging Doesn’t Happen in a Straight Line

Aging is not linear. There are two sudden shifts that happen around age 44 and again around 60. These stages accelerate your brain aging. You’ll notice them – with changes in your immune system and brain function.

This sounds like bad news. However, once you know when these changes take place, you can make the necessary changes to keep your brain healthy. It's all about getting and staying ahead of things with the right supplements, diet, and exercise.

SOLUTION: Lock in one healthy habit now. Nothing too complicated. Just choose to get better sleep, cleaner eating, or regular exercise. Stick with it for 30 days to start. Shop the Aging & Longevity collection here.

2. Neuroplasticity – The Brain is Always Changing

Your brain doesn't ever stop growing or changing. It constantly adapts to new biological situations and circumstances. This is known as neuroplasticity.

Want to keep your brain sharp as you get older? Learn a new skill, join a club, or practice mindfulness. Every new cognitive challenge kickstarts neuroplasticity and keeps you feeling young.

SOLUTION: Set a small challenge for yourself for the next 6 months. Learn to speak a language, start a class somewhere, or read a book you wouldn’t usually read. Check out our new Better Brain App here and try out brain games.

3. A Social Life Fuels Your Brain

Diet and exercise are usually the main topics around healthy aging. What if there was an easier way to feel young though?

Turns out, most long-living and healthy communities share one common trait: social lives. The more time you spend with people you love – and with strangers – the healthier your brain is.

SOLUTION: This week, you’ll want to reconnect with an old friend. Go out for coffee, or walk outside together. Activities like this work wonders for your brian. And you’ll feel younger because of it!

Exercise Increases Neuroplasticity (New Study)

We know exercise is good for the brain. But why? A new 2024 study finds aerobic exercise actually increases neuroplasticity – the ability for your brain to adapt and change.

Magnetic Stimulation Brain Therapy

A new gene therapy uses precise magnetic field control on specific parts of the brain, without the need for surgical or implanted devices. This may be a game-changer for medicine in the future.

Did You Know?
  • The brain has its own garbage disposal. It’s called the glymphatic system, and it removes toxins while you sleep.
  • The brain shrinks as it gets dehydrated. This leads to less cognitive function. Drink your water today! 💧
