Newport Jazz team here. Perhaps we are biased, but we believe live music is more essential than ever. For over seventy years, the Newport Jazz Festival has shown that music – perhaps better than anything else – unites people and fills us with hope.
Unfortunately, the music industry has become increasingly corporatized and expenses are rising sharply. As one of the few remaining nonprofit, independent festival organizations in America, we feel a fierce responsibility to protect the live music experience. You won’t find any corporations on our stages, no hidden ticket fees, no VIP passes. We don’t serve shareholders, we serve the music.
But we can’t do it alone. We count on small donations from our community to keep the lights on and the music playing.
