Hi there,
Pretty cool find here: A recent study published in Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise (PMID: 22330017) found that healthy young men who consumed 40 grams of casein protein before sleep, after an evening of resistance training, experienced a sustained release of amino acids during the night and higher overnight protein synthesis rates, lasting up to 7.5 hours.
Importantly, this occurred without changes in reported sleep quality.
Muscle protein synthesis (MPS) is the body’s process of building and repairing muscle tissue. Regular resistance training, adequate rest, and sufficient protein intake are all key factors that can help support MPS.
Some people choose casein-rich foods like Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, or almonds before bed. Another convenient option is EvoChem Nutrition’s Casein, a slow-digesting protein designed to provide what you need without the added carbohydrates or fats.
Bottom line: Consider making casein protein part of your nighttime routine!
Thank you,
