Thursday night's total lunar eclipse — the only one viewable in North America in 2025 — will turn the moon blood-red. Check out these tips to get ready to capture this rare celestial event on March 13-14. The partial eclipse phase will start at 1:09 AM ET / 10:09 AM PT.

“Watch your settings! The moon moves fairly quickly across the sky, so it is recommended that you keep your shutter speed above 1/125s (unless you are using a tracker). This is easy to do when the moon is full, but as the earth's shadow begins to cover the moon the lower light levels really begin to come into play.”
