Editor's Take
Pom Pom at Home has this fascinating origin story that starts with founder Hilde Leiaghat wandering Belgian flea markets as a kid with her father. She attributes her love for antiques and vintage linens to that time in her life, and honestly, you can feel that nostalgic warmth in everything they make.
The company launched in 2007, but it actually grew out of Pom Pom Interiors retail locations that had been scattered throughout Los Angeles since 1991. So they've got serious staying power in the home goods world. Today the business has been handed down to Hilde's son, Sam Leiaghat, keeping it genuinely family-run.
What sets them apart is their obsession with Belgian flax linens and that "lived-in" elegant aesthetic. Their designs are described as "the epitome of effortless luxury, combining soft textures and subtle elegance", which basically means your bedroom will look like it belongs in a European countryside cottage-but in the best possible way.
They're also surprisingly eco-conscious, using 100% natural linen as their primary fiber because it requires tremendously less fertilizers and water than other plants, and it's the longest lasting of all plant-based fibers. Plus, they only work with fair trade factories, which is refreshing in an industry that doesn't always prioritize ethical manufacturing.
The brand positions itself among luxury competitors like Pottery Barn, West Elm, and Anthropologie, but with a more intimate, artisanal feel. They offer bedding, tabletop items, and accessories that are carefully designed with comfort, luxury, and a 'lived in' aesthetic in mind.
And here's something kind of cool-their products are found in specialty retailers around the U.S. and internationally, as well as on their retail website, so they've managed to scale without losing that boutique quality. As of 2024, they have approximately 11 employees, which keeps things personal and allows for that attention to detail you can actually feel in their products.
