Returns
What is the return window?
You have 30 calendar days from the date you receive your game to return it. This gives customers a full month to decide if the product meets their expectations.
Do I need a receipt to return an item?
To be eligible for a return, your game must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. Your game must be in the original packaging and you must provide a receipt or proof of purchase.
Are there any items that are non-returnable?
Parts, accessories, and any custom produced games are non-returnable items and the sale of these items is final. Due to the nature of custom-produced games, no refund can be given for these items and all sales are final.
How will I receive my refund?
If your return is approved, we will initiate a refund to your credit card (or original method of payment). You will receive the credit within a set amount of days, depending on your card issuer's policies.
Who pays for return shipping?
You are responsible for paying for the shipping cost to return your item. Additionally, please note that a $15 restocking fee will be applied to all returns.
Editor's Take
So here's the thing about Pop-A-Shot-it's basically the game that made you feel like Michael Jordan at every arcade, bar, and Chuck E. Cheese you've ever been to. And yeah, they literally invented the whole electronic basketball shooting game thing back in 1981. Not "one of the first." The first.
Ken Cochran, a former college basketball coach in Salina, Kansas, came up with the idea, and it's been turning casual shooters into trash-talking competitors ever since. You know that feeling when you're at a bar and someone challenges you to a game, and suddenly you're locked in like it's Game 7 of the Finals? That's the Pop-A-Shot effect.
What's kind of wild is how the company has evolved. They're not just making arcade games anymore-they've got home versions, outdoor models that can handle rain and snow, and even a kids' version called the Lil' Pop. The Home Dual Shot is their bestseller, and it comes with 16 different game modes. Sixteen. Because apparently, the classic 30-second shootout wasn't enough for some people.
The tech is actually pretty impressive. They use proprietary infrared sensors that register about 98% of shots accurately, which means no more arguing about whether that ball went in or not. The games run on either AC power or AA batteries, fold up for storage, and come with wheels. It's like they thought of everything except how to stop you from getting absolutely destroyed by your 12-year-old nephew.
And get this-after 25 years, they brought back the Pop-A-Shot National Championship in 2024, aired it on ESPN8: The Ocho, and had 249 people show up to a qualifying tournament in Chicago. The winner, Josh Caputo, put up 153 points. For context, that's basically making a basket every 1.2 seconds for 30 seconds straight. Insane.
Pop-A-Shot's headquarters is now in Peoria, Illinois, in the Warehouse District. They moved from Kansas and have been customizing games for businesses, schools, and even NBA teams. You can get your company logo slapped on one of these things with no minimum order. They've also got licensed versions for college teams-perfect for the sports fan who has everything except an arcade basketball game in their basement.
The company's been around for over 40 years now, and they're still the gold standard. Sure, there are knockoffs, but none of them have that announcer voice yelling "En fuego!" when you're on a hot streak. None of them have the same build quality-we're talking 1.5-inch steel tubing, commercial-grade backboards, and heavy-duty nylon ramps that won't sag or rip.
What makes Pop-A-Shot special isn't just the nostalgia factor. It's that it's one of those rare things that genuinely brings people together. Grandparents playing against grandkids. Wedding receptions turning into impromptu tournaments. Office break rooms becoming battlegrounds. It's active, it's competitive, and-here's the kicker-it doesn't involve staring at a screen.
