Editor's Take
So here's the thing about Privé Revaux-it's basically what happens when Hollywood decides to crash the eyewear party. Co-founded by Jamie Foxx, Ashley Benson, and Hailee Steinfeld, this Miami-based brand figured out something the rest of the industry was apparently too busy counting money to notice: people want designer-looking glasses without the designer price tag.
And honestly? They nailed it. With over 100 handcrafted and polarized designer frames, each costing $29.95, Privé Revaux basically said "hold my sunglasses" to the entire luxury eyewear market. That's not a typo-we're talking about frames that look like they belong on a red carpet but cost less than most people spend on lunch for a week.
But here's where it gets interesting. Each of the 100+ Privé styles is named to evoke a persona, from The Artist and The Socialite, to The Boss and The Godfather-because apparently, your sunglasses should come with a whole identity crisis included. It's kind of brilliant, actually. Instead of just buying "black aviators," you're buying into being "The Boss." Marketing psychology at its finest.
The celebrity angle isn't just for show, either. Rob and Mariel bring unmatched celebrity styling expertise (Jennifer Lopez, Emily Ratajkowski, Cara Delevingne, Gwen Stefani) along with design prowess working with world renowned luxury brands. So when they say these frames have star power, they're not just name-dropping-they've got the actual stylists who dress A-listers designing the collection.
What's really wild is how they've managed to stay relevant even as their business model shifted. Their online store is currently closed, but you can still find them on Amazon-which is either a strategic pivot or a sign of the times. Either way, they're still out there making affordable eyewear accessible to people who want to look good without taking out a second mortgage.
The whole thing started with a simple belief: everyone should have access to high-quality, beautifully designed eyewear at an affordable price, because sunglasses are an expression of personal style. And honestly, in a world where designer frames can cost more than some people's rent, that's not just good business-it's almost revolutionary.
