Returns
What is the return window?
You have 100 calendar days from the date of delivery to return your Purple mattress. Because it can take some time for your body to adjust to better support, Purple requires sleeping on the mattress for at least 21 nights before starting a return or exchange.
Are there any items that are non-returnable?
For the entire Purple pillows line, you have 100 days from the purchase date to return them. All items from the bedding line are returnable for a full refund within 30 days of the purchase. If you bought one of the items from the line of Purple bases, you can return it for a full refund in 30 days. Keep your Purple base clean and undamaged to keep it eligible for a return.
How will I receive my refund?
Purple will refund the full product price of the mattress less the value of any discount, interest accrued, and shipping or transportation charges once the mattress has been picked up. The full refund will reach your original form of payment within 15 business days.
Who pays for return shipping?
You, as a customer, are responsible for return shipping costs. Purple does not require you to return the mattress back to them. To receive your refund, Purple requires customers to prove they donated the mattress, recycled it, or used a licensed company to dispose of the mattress.
Can I return online purchases in-store?
Purple's return/exchange policy only applies to mattresses purchased on Purple's website. If you bought your Purple mattress from Amazon or a retailer like Mattress Firm, you'll need to inquire about their return and exchange procedures.

So here's the thing about Purple-they basically took one of the most boring purchases you'll ever make and turned it into something people actually get excited about. And that's kind of wild when you think about it.
The company started back in 1989 with two engineer brothers, Tony and Terry Pearce, who spent decades developing cushioning materials for wheelchairs and hospital beds. But it wasn't until 2015 that they launched the Purple Mattress on Kickstarter, and honestly, the timing couldn't have been better. The whole bed-in-a-box thing was just taking off, but Purple had something nobody else did-this weird, squishy grid made from what they call "hyper-elastic polymer." It's basically the same tech that's been keeping hospital patients comfortable for years, just repackaged for your bedroom.
What really set Purple apart, though, was how they marketed it. Remember that viral video with Goldilocks dropping raw eggs onto a mattress? That thing racked up over 167 million views. They didn't just tell you their mattress was different-they showed you, in the most memorable way possible. And it worked. Purple went from zero to $187 million in revenue by 2017, which is pretty insane for a mattress company.
The actual product lives up to the hype for a lot of people. That grid layer-it's got over 1,400 air channels that supposedly keep you sleeping up to 4 times cooler than traditional foam mattresses. Studies show it can reduce pain by up to 40%, which makes sense given its medical origins. But here's the catch: it feels nothing like a traditional mattress. Some people love that instant, bouncy support. Others? Not so much. That's why Purple gives you 100 nights to try it out, though they do ask you to stick with it for at least 21 days because your body needs time to adjust.
Purple's ranked number one in customer satisfaction for bed-in-a-box mattresses by J.D. Power, which isn't nothing. They've expanded way beyond just mattresses too-pillows, seat cushions, bedding, even dog beds. And you can find them pretty much everywhere now, from their own showrooms to thousands of retail locations including Mattress Firm and Costco.
The price point sits somewhere in the middle. You're not getting the cheapest option out there, but you're also not dropping five grand on a luxury brand. A queen runs around $1,199 for their basic model, with hybrid versions going higher. But honestly, for something you spend a third of your life on, that's not unreasonable.
Look, Purple isn't perfect for everyone. Some people find the grid too firm, others think it's too bouncy. But if you're a hot sleeper, deal with pressure points, or just want something genuinely different from the sea of memory foam out there, it's worth checking out. Just maybe try it in a store first if you can, because that grid really does feel unlike anything else.
