Endless adventures await wildlife explorers this October. All month long, kids ages 11 and younger experience the San Diego Zoo and San Diego Zoo Safari Park for free. Bring the whole herd to connect with towering giraffe calves, hop alongside kangaroos and wallabies, and discover the wonders of wildlife through the joys of exploration.

The glittering, glimmering extravaganza is back! Glowing lights illuminate the Zoo after dark every weekend in Spook-tober. It’s haunting fun for all ages with interactive entertainment, mystical festivities, and tasty temptations to sink your teeth into. Members, haunt your way into an exclusive preview on Friday, October 3.

Every Saturday and Sunday in October, enjoy the season of color with special activities, entertainment, and culinary comforts. Navigate the twists and turns of the autumn maze then get your toes tappin’ during the jamboree. On Saturday, October 4, members can create heartwarming memories early with their exclusive preview.

Greet the day by walking under lush canopies and venturing across sprawling savannas. Join us for Early Hours at the Zoo and Safari Park on select Sundays to start your morning with the harmonious sights and sounds of nature. And don’t miss additional Early Hours on certain Thursdays at the Safari Park.

Indigenous Peoples’ Celebration

October 13

Join the San Pasqual Band of the Kumeyaay Nation as they host Indigenous Peoples' Celebration for the community at the Safari Park. There will be educational activities, traditional storytelling, and so much more. All are welcome to this joyous celebration of the Kumeyaay people and the Indigenous community, their commitment to wildlife, and their culture.
