 | | Don't Miss Ruth Asawa: Retrospective at SFMOMA Explore the extraordinary work and life of San Francisco icon Ruth Asawa: artist, educator, and advocate. Ruth Asawa: Retrospective spans six decades of the artist's expansive output, including her signature looped-wire sculptures, drawings, prints, paintings, and archival materials. See more than 300 works all in one place at the show of the season!
Discover her deep connection to San Francisco, including a gallery that evokes the living room of Asawa’s longtime Noe Valley home that opens with the artist’s hand-carved redwood doors, and features cases of her sketchbooks, art by friends that she kept on display, and a rich array of the sculptures that once hung from her ceiling. Archival materials show how Asawa shaped her adopted hometown through numerous public commissions and her dedication to arts education.
Tickets will be released on a monthly basis.
