Returns
What is the return window?
You can start your return online by going to your Order History within 30 days of receiving your order. Returns within 15 days are free. There's a $10 label fee per order if the return is dropped off and scanned by the carrier 16-30 days after delivery date. Returns are not accepted if the return is dropped off beyond 30 days after delivery date.
Are there any items that are non-returnable?
Merchandise must be returned within 30 days in new condition (must not be worn, used, opened, altered, or washed) and in its original packaging with all tags attached, including seals and security tags. Items marked final sale are non-returnable for any form of refund.
How will I receive my refund?
Once Shopbop receives your return, they'll credit your account. They are now offering refunds faster than ever. For eligible orders, they will issue the refund as soon as you drop off your package at the return carrier. If you change your mind and do not send back the product after they've issued the refund, they will charge you again on the same credit card.

Editor's Take
So here's the thing about Shopbop-it's basically become the go-to spot for women who want that perfect mix of established designer pieces and emerging brands without having to hunt through a million different sites. Founded back in 1999 in Madison, Wisconsin (yeah, kind of random, right?), it started as the online arm of a brick-and-mortar store before Amazon scooped it up in 2006. But here's what's interesting: even though it's been part of the Amazon family for nearly two decades, Shopbop has managed to keep its own distinct vibe.
The selection is pretty impressive-over 1,000 brands ranging from Saint Laurent and Tory Burch to smaller contemporary labels you might not find everywhere else. And they've gotten really smart about how they present everything. Instead of just throwing products at you, they curate collections with actual editorial content and styling guidance that drops daily. It's like having a fashion-savvy friend who's always in the know.
What really sets them apart, though, is how they've leaned into the whole influencer marketing thing. We're talking major campaigns-like that Lake Como trip they did with Instagram influencers that basically went viral. They give influencers complete creative control, which sounds risky but apparently works because it feels authentic rather than like a hard sell. According to their own data, 70% of their customers get fashion inspiration from Instagram, so they're basically meeting people where they already are.
The shopping experience itself is pretty seamless. Free two-day shipping worldwide, free returns in the U.S. and Canada within 15 days (though there's a $10 fee if you return between days 16-30). They've also got this loyalty program called "Yours Truly Shopbop Rewards" where you can rack up points and get perks like early sale access and birthday discounts. Gold and Platinum members even get access to a special customer concierge line that's available 24/7, which is kind of extra but also kind of genius.
One thing that's worth noting-they take their return policy seriously. Like, really seriously. There have been cases where customers who return too much stuff get warning emails about potentially facing fees. It makes sense from a business perspective (processing returns isn't cheap), but it's something to keep in mind if you're the type who likes to order six dresses to keep one.
They've also expanded beyond just women's fashion. In 2022, they launched a beauty category, and they previously had East Dane for menswear (which merged back into Shopbop in 2021). The beauty stuff can't be shipped internationally yet, but it's part of their "Clean Beauty" program that focuses on ingredient transparency.
The company operates out of Madison with a secondary office in New York where the buying and editorial teams are based. And while they're definitely an online-only retailer now (the original Madison store closed in 2014), they occasionally do pop-ups in places like SoHo and Miami that draw massive crowds-we're talking 20,000 customers in the first 10 days kind of numbers.
Shopbop has figured out how to be part of the Amazon ecosystem while still feeling like a boutique shopping experience. Whether that's worth it depends on what you're looking for, but they've clearly found their lane in the crowded online fashion space.
