Returns
What is the return window?
If you are not satisfied with your purchase, you can return your eligible item to StockX within 14 days of delivery for a full refund in the form of StockX credit (minus the original cost of shipping). The 14-Day Returns feature is only available for orders placed after October 15th, 2024.
Are there any items that are non-returnable?
Returns for StockX Credit are available only for eligible items, which is determined based on the exact product and size. As of today, over half of all trades are available for returns. If your item is return eligible, it will be labeled "14 Day Return" on the item's product page at the time of purchase as well as in your Buying History in your Account Profile.
How will I receive my refund?
US customers can return eligible items within 14 days of delivery for a full refund in the form of StockX credit, minus the original shipping cost.
What if I received a damaged or incorrect item?
If you receive an item that is broken or not what you ordered, StockX's Buyer Promise will protect you. Customers can be sure that this policy will take care of any problems that come up because of wrong orders or things arriving in bad shape.
How do I start a return online?
To initiate a return, simply visit the Buying History section of your StockX Profile and click the "Start Return" button next to the item you want to return. The item must be received by StockX in the same condition that it was delivered in. That means the StockX tag cannot be removed, or the StockX sticker must still be attached.
Editor's Take
So here's the thing about StockX-it's basically turned sneaker shopping into something that feels like trading stocks, which is kind of wild when you think about it. Founded in Detroit back in 2016, this online marketplace has completely changed how people buy and sell limited-edition sneakers, streetwear, watches, handbags, and even collectibles. And yeah, they've gotten huge. Like, really huge.
The whole concept is pretty straightforward but clever. Buyers place bids, sellers place asks, and when those numbers meet, boom-transaction happens. But here's where it gets interesting: nothing goes directly from seller to buyer. Everything routes through StockX's authentication centers first. They've got teams of experts inspecting every single item to make sure it's legit, which is a massive deal in a market absolutely flooded with fakes.
Notice how they've expanded way beyond sneakers? Started with kicks-your Yeezys, your Retro Jordans, all that heat-but now you can find Supreme hoodies, Rolex watches, Louis Vuitton bags, trading cards, even PlayStation 5s and graphics cards when they're impossible to find elsewhere. The platform features hundreds of brands including Jordan Brand, Nike, adidas, Off-White, Gucci, LEGO, KAWS, and Apple products. It's become this massive marketplace for basically anything that's hard to get and holds value.
The authentication process is what sets them apart, honestly. They've got verification centers in Detroit, Tempe, New Jersey, London, and other locations around the world. Every product gets inspected by trained authenticators before it ships to the buyer. In 2024 alone, they rejected over 370,000 products that didn't meet their standards and blocked more than 500,000 sketchy listings from even hitting the marketplace. That's a lot of fakes they're keeping out.
And get this-they just rolled out a 14-day return policy in late 2024, which is huge for a marketplace that previously operated on a "all sales final" basis. Over half of their products are now eligible for returns, though you get refunded in StockX credit minus shipping costs. The item has to stay in the same condition with the StockX tag still attached, but it's a big step toward giving buyers more confidence.
The company's headquartered in that gorgeous building at 1046 Woodward Avenue in downtown Detroit, right in the heart of the city's revitalization. They've got over 1,000 employees worldwide now and offices spanning multiple continents. The Detroit connection runs deep-Dan Gilbert (yeah, the Quicken Loans guy) was one of the co-founders, along with Josh Luber, Greg Schwartz, and Chris Kaufman. Eminem's even an investor, which feels very Detroit.
What's cool is how transparent the pricing is. You can see the full price history for any item, track market trends, even build a portfolio of your collection and watch its value change over time. It's like checking stock prices, except you're looking at how much those Travis Scott Jordans are going for today versus last month. The data's all there, real-time, which helps both buyers and sellers make smarter decisions.
