Editor's Take
So here's the thing about Tru Earth-they've basically taken one of the most boring household chores and turned it into this whole environmental movement. And honestly? It's kind of brilliant.
These aren't your typical laundry detergent bottles taking up half your laundry room. Tru Earth's laundry strips are ultra-concentrated, eco-friendly sheets that dissolve completely in your washing machine. Think of them as the contact lenses of the cleaning world-tiny, but they pack a serious punch.
What really gets me is the numbers behind this company. They've got millions of customers in over 80 countries, and they've prevented 190 million plastic containers from being created. That's not just marketing fluff-that's actual impact you can measure.
But let's talk about convenience for a second. Each sheet contains exactly the right amount of detergent for your load, works in hot or cold water, and fits any washing machine including HE models. No more guessing if you've poured too much or too little. No more lugging heavy jugs from the store. And definitely no more running out at the worst possible moment because you can actually see how many strips you have left.
The founders-Ryan, Brad, and Kevin-started this whole thing because they wanted to leave a better planet for their kids. They're parents who wanted to make healthier environmental choices while keeping convenience as a priority. And that balance is exactly what makes Tru Earth work.
Founded in 2019, they've grown incredibly fast, but they haven't lost sight of their mission. Their donation program started during COVID-19 when household supplies were scarce, and they've now reached over 800 organizations including food banks, maternity programs, and women's shelters.
The strips themselves are free from all the stuff you probably don't want near your clothes anyway-parabens, phosphates, phthalates, dyes, and chlorine bleach. They come in a slim cardboard package that you can actually recycle, unlike those plastic jugs that'll outlive us all.
What I find most interesting is how they've built this community around what could have just been another cleaning product. The #TruEarthMovement has millions of people in more than 82 countries all working toward the same goal-reducing the 645 billion plastic household containers that end up in landfills and oceans every year.
It's one of those rare companies where the product actually lives up to the hype, and the environmental benefits aren't just a nice side effect-they're the whole point.
