THE SOUNDS OF SUMMER

In the summer, live music echoes over lakes and rings through downtowns. People gather together with friends as long days darken into dusk to enjoy local food and festivities. Vermont’s summer calendar is a powerhouse; these signature events are a great reason to plan a trip to the Green Mountains this season.

QUECHEE BALLOON FESTIVAL

June 20-22, 2025

Enjoy hot-air balloon rides, live music, family entertainment, and more at Vermont’s longest-running hot air balloon festival.

SUMMER SOLSTICE

June 21, 2025

Ski or ride this summer on preserved snow (a rare experience) at Jay Peak Resort, with live music and other outdoor activities, too.

LAKE MOREY SUMMER CONCERT SERIES

Thursdays June 26 - Aug. 31, 2025

This weekly lakeside concert series brings together Grammy-winning artists, local food, and community flair from June through August.

BEST OF VERMONT SUMMER FESTIVAL

Aug. 23-24, 2025

Across two days, take in all-day music, antique tractors, more than 125 vendors, classic cars, hot air balloons, a beer garden, and more.

CELEBRATE LGBTQ+ PRIDE

Vermont’s year-round Pride celebrations spill into the streets and echo along waterfronts. Surrounded by natural beauty and brightened by drag brunches, roller disco, and rocking summer parades, Vermont offers wide-open spaces to take it all in.

FREE ACCESS ON VERMONT DAYS

Spend the day on the lake, explore historic sites, or cast a line on Vermont Days June 14-15, 2025. This annual weekend event celebrates the arrival of summer with free admission to day-use areas at Vermont State Parks and State-owned historic sites. Free Fishing Day, June 14, allows all to fish without a license, and a Grand Isle fishing clinic helps you hone your skills.
