ENJOY WINTER AT EVENTS STATEWIDE

As winter in Vermont sets in and settles, Green Mountain culture celebrates the season with a full roster of events. Bars made of ice, a 103-year-old ski jumping contest, ice carving, snow volleyball, and more bring people together.

NEW YEAR’S EVE AROUND VERMONT 

Dec. 31 

Fireworks displays, torchlight parades at ski areas, an LGBTQIA+ art exhibit during St. Johnsbury’s annual First Night North, and sparkly winter lights displays – there are so many ways to celebrate around Vermont as 2024 rolls into 2025.

FARMERS NIGHT CONCERT SERIES

Wednesdays, Jan.- April

The Farmers’ Night Concert Series is a tradition going back a century. Lawmakers wanted some live music to bring them together and remind them of home during the session. Today, the series spans genres.

SPICE ON SNOW FESTIVAL

Jan. 17-19

Three days of live roots and folk music rock historic downtown Montpelier. Enjoy concerts, dances, workshops, and family events all over town, plus a celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

STOWE WINTER CARNIVAL

Jan. 23-25

Stowe Winter Carnival features snow volleyball, ice carving, stargazing, kids’ activities, live music, and more. Take in this annual Vermont Signature Event in the heart of downtown Stowe.

HARRIS HILL SKI JUMP

Feb. 14-16

During this 103-year-old tradition, jumpers aim to break the 341-foot hill record, soaring at speeds of up to 60 miles per hour. Join the festive atmosphere with music, food, bonfires, and a beer tent at this Vermont Signature Event.

GREAT ICE

Feb. 14-16  

Every winter, Great Ice turns North Hero’s frozen bay into a winter playground for all ages. Fireworks, bonfires, dog sled rides, ice skating, cookoffs, snow building competitions, and more round out this annual tradition.

RUTLAND WINTERFEST

Feb. 14-22

Fan favorites like Center Street sledding, snow carving, the Great Bigfoot Chase, and a chili cookoff draw crowds. Visit downtown Rutland for the annual Come Alive Outside Winterfest.

ICE BAR

March 14-15

Hotel Vermont’s annual Ice Bar event brings people together outside. Celebrate the beauty of Vermont’s long winter with frosty cocktails, ice sculptures, DJ Cre8 spinning all of the hits, and dancing.
