How to Feel Dotted Rhythms in Music

If you've ever tried teaching or playing dotted rhythms by dividing quarter notes into fractions, you know how quickly it drives you crazy. Even worse, slow counting often causes crisp dotted notes to degenerate into lazy, swung triplets. In this video, Robert Estrin shares a counter-intuitive metronome "hack" that abandons chaotic sixteenth-note subdivisions and uses an off-beat pulse to guarantee mathematical precision at any tempo.
