Hello everyone!

It’s May, and in Luzerne County, that can only mean one thing: the return of the fabulous Fine Arts Fiesta in downtown Wilkes-Barre! This year’s event is extra special, as the Fiesta is noting its 70th anniversary. The event happens on May 14,15,16 and 17 andfeatures fantastic displays of wonderful art, great food vendors, and plenty of live, eclectic music. Headlining this year’s big Saturday night show is The Phil Giordano Jazz Orchestra. Visit Luzerne County is a proud sponsor. Happy 70th, Fine Arts Fiesta!

Live music at Mohegan Pennsylvania also gets a big jolt this month when the casino’s iconic Party on The Patio series kicks off on May 7 with Haus of Monsters, America’s #1 Tribute to Lady Gaga. On May 14, it’s Play it Again: Tribute to Luke Bryan, and on May 21, it’s Mamma Mania: The American Tribute to ABBA. The months wraps up on May 21 with the zany and diverse Amish Outlaws.

The West Pittston Cherry Blossom Festival will help celebrate spring on May 2 and 3, and if you’re up for some baseball, the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders have 15 home games at PNC Field this month, so there’s plenty of baseball to choose from! On May 28, Visit Luzerne County will be the featured organization of the night at ballpark and our own Kyle “Weekend Roundup” Stratton will be throwing out a ceremonial first pitch. (Throw a strike, Kyle!)

The F.M. Kirby Center in Wilkes-Barre has nine events on tap in May, including An Evening of Songs & Stories with John Legend on May 3, the World Ballet Company’s presentation of Swan Lake on May 10, and rock legends Grand Funk Railroad on May 29.
