The Capitals will host a fan event at Capital One Arena in honor of Alex Ovechkin today from 3 PM to 5 PM. Ovechkin will be in attendance, along with Nicklas Backstrom, T.J. Oshie, and Capitals owner Ted Leonsis. The stage programming will start at 4 PM with hosts Tarik El-Bashir and Alan May from Monumental Sports Network. The event will also include remarks from Ovechkin, Backstrom, Oshie and Leonsis.
The indoor event is free and open to the general public and will feature stage programming, Gr8 retail apparel, photo opportunities, interactive stations, giveaways such as Ovi fat heads on a stick, alumni appearances and more.
In addition to this week’s events, the Capitals also encourage fans to partake in several other initiatives in honor of Ovechkin.
