Don't go out for dinner for Valentine's...make it yourself. I've got some ideas.

Let's say you can't cook.

I assume you know how to do some things like boil water (to cook pasta) or heat up a jar of sauce in a pot, but planning a menu isn't really your thing. No problem. You can still wow 'em with this collection of ingredients for a delicious pasta dinner.

If you can't even boil water without involving the fire department, this is still a great idea because that can be part of the experience. Instead of cooking for somebody, cook with somebody! Imagine it: a cramped kitchen, warm and inviting...you have a glass of wine in one hand, Van Morrison coming out of the speakers and your valentine is stirring some sauce, telling you stories about cooking with their grandmother when they were younger.

This is going to be much better than a prix fixe menu at some restaurant that wants you to leave in 90 minutes.
