When someone says they're ready to begin their olive oil adventure, this is the oil I recommend first. It's an easy oil to love, especially for a beginner.

Most olive oils of note (at least the ones that grab the most attention) are known for their big, bold, robust flavors. The oils from Puglia, for instance, can be very peppery, grassy, and bitter. They're wonderful (give Petraia a try if you're interested—it's also on sale), but Roi is a smoother, gentler ride and that's a better launching point for most folks.

Thing is, Roi isn't just a beginning...it can also be the end you're looking for. I'm rarely without a bottle, myself.

The current 2025 Harvest smells and tastes sweet and buttery. It has a delicate green olive flavor, with a whisper of mouth-warming pepper in the finish that gently fades. It's elegant, but no shrinking violet. Stock up.
