My kids have missed a lot more Father's Days than they've made. Maybe that's why I want to see other dads out there get their flowers.
When I was a kid (1980s-90s) the common refrain was "moms celebrate Mother's Day with their family, dads celebrate Father's Day with their friends"—probably golfing.
But things have changed (slightly) over the years and we modern dads actually enjoy being with our families. Golf is still a thing, though.
Nowadays dads want gifts they can share with their family—and maybe a couple of friends. The best gift to satisfy Dad is food.
This is one of our all-time top selling gifts because it's all about the amazing pastries from Zingerman's Bakehouse. (Many of our top gifts are baked goods from Zingerman's Bakehouse—so that tracks.)
Dads love baked goods because they can be enjoyed right out of the box. No fuss, no prep, just pastry.
Every time Dad reaches into this colorful gift box he'll pull out one of these treats: a sea salted Pecan Blondie, a Coconut Macaroon-topped Brownie, an Oatmeal Raisin Cookie, a Ginger Molasses Cookie, a Currant Scone, an Oat & Raisin Scone, a raspberry-filled Patti Pocket Hand Pie, a bag of all butter Palmiers, and our nosher-sized Lemon Poppyseed Coffee Cake. That's the kicker for me. I love that coffee cake.
