There's another holiday on the horizon besides Valentine's Day, and it's a thing that can not be named (for legal reasons) but you know what I'm talking about if you're aware of football.
Right. That game. You're going to need some food.
Zingerman's was built on sandwiches more than 40 years ago, and it's still the thing folks crave when they come to Ann Arbor. The Corned Beef Reuben is still the most popular, but we have a flavor of reuben for everyone—even vegetarians!
So root for whatever team you like most, just make sure you have a reuben in your hand while you do it.
The first thing you'll do is heat the oven so that you can revive the loaf of Jewish rye bread you'll need. The fixings—kraut, Russian dressing, cheese, slaw, meat, pickles—come ready to roll and as the bread heats up in the oven you'll lay it all out like an assembly line.
With the bread revived you'll carefully slice it so you have enough bread for at least four sandwiches. You'll steam the corned beef, you'll grill the sandwiches on the stove, you'll complete the sandwich and you'll be known as the greatest sandwich artist in your house. Maybe your neighborhood.
That's what it's like when you make our reuben. There's gonna be fireworks—metaphorically.
