Hi Friend,
April always brings a unique rhythm in ministry. Easter may be behind us, but the opportunities in front of us are just as meaningful—walking with people, following up on conversations, and helping others take their next step in faith.
I’ve been especially encouraged lately and wanted to share a bit with you.
I truly love getting to attend conferences on behalf of ChurchSource, and recently I had the opportunity to be at Exponential—a gathering of church leaders and planters from around the world. There’s nothing quite like hearing how God is moving in different communities and seeing the creative ways churches are building His Kingdom. I always walk away refreshed and reminded that we’re all part of something much bigger.
While I was there, I spent a lot of time with Peyton Jones, one of our authors who has a deep heart for reaching people both inside and outside the church. His passion for discipleship really aligns with what so many of us are focusing on right now—multiplication. I'd love to take a moment to discuss some of his excellent materials with you.
Helping You Multiply Through Discipleship
The first resource I'd like to show you is Discipology: The Art and Science of Making Disciples. It focuses on the three “T’s” of discipleship: time, tactics, and teaching. What I appreciate most is how practical it is—it doesn’t just talk about discipleship, it shows you how to actually do it.
The goal is simple but powerful: not just to lead someone in their faith, but to help them become someone who can lead others. That kind of multiplication can truly shape a ministry.
It’s also incredibly versatile. Whether you’re discipling one-on-one, leading a small group, or gathering in spaces like home groups or FCA huddles, this resource meets you there. The book provides a strong framework, the journal invites reflection, and the included app helps guide you step-by-step through the process.
Building a Culture of Disciple-Making
Alongside that, Journey to Disciple-Making helps cast the bigger vision. It’s a great resource for thinking through how disciple-making can become part of your church’s DNA—not just a program, but a culture.
Together, these resources can help you both envision and implement a multiplying discipleship strategy in your ministry.
