Hey Folks,
A few weeks back I told you Day Owl is landing for good. The response has been overwhelming — thank you. You really flooded my inbox, which I definitely deserve since I've been flooding yours for all these years. I haven't gotten to all the emails/texts you sent in response, but I promise I will. It means a lot to us (and me).
A heads up: some styles are already running thin. When a colorway sells out now, that's it. There's no restock coming. There's no next season.
Everything is still 40% off.

P.S. If you missed the last email and want the whole story, it's below:
Why We're Closing
We launched in March of 2020, the spring after one of the most successful crowdfunding bag campaigns ever — over $600,000 in bags sold in 6 short weeks.
The WEEK after launch, COVID hit. Nobody needed a bag while they stayed home in their PJs, so we pivoted and made hundreds of thousands of units of PPE. We kept our doors open and made it.
Then the SPAC market jitters started. Money wasn't as available as we needed it to be in order to grow. We got creative, changed our strategy, and grew anyway.
In 2022, inflation took off. In an uncertain economy, you all rightfully decided to hang onto the bags you already had. So we doubled down and invested in selling to companies instead of just individuals. We survived, and this time I REALLY thought we had it figured out.
Then...tariffs. It wasn't the tariffs themselves as much as the daily unstable, unintelligible, unthoughtful rhetoric that hurt hundreds of thousands of small businesses just like ours. Nobody wants to purchase a product if they don't know what it's going to cost when it arrives. We made it a year, but we couldn't keep absorbing the body shots.
We've reached the end.
I've dragged my feet on writing this. I'm an "A" student and a "fixer," and it hurts to admit when you can't make a good thing work. I had wonderful, dedicated, hard-working teams who gave me their very best and believed deeply that there's a better way to make things — that business can be the single largest force for good on a hotter, more crowded, more chaotic planet. We just need to decide for it to be.
I still believe.
You loved our bags and our mission, and I'm grateful for you.
