Star Brands will join Rust-Oleum, a subsidiary of RPM International that manufactures household coatings. The purchase adds another notable brand to Rust-Oleum’s long list of acquisitions, which includes products such as Roto Rooter and EpoxyShield. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

- Microsoft (No. 13) CFO Amy Hood assured analysts that “demand signals” aren’t drying up for the tech giant despite global economic uncertainty. CEO Satya Nadella specifically pointed to the continued growth of Microsoft’s cloud computing business, a reason the company beat Wall Street’s expectations for revenue and profit in the past quarter.
- General Motors (No. 19) has various “levers” the automaker can pull to offset some of Trump’s tariffs, CEO Mary Barra said on the company’s first-quarter earnings call. GM estimates the tariffs to cost between $4 billion and $5 billion this year.
- Meta Platforms (No. 30) expects capital expenditure to hit more than $64 billion in 2025—more than double its annual capex two years ago—as the company directs more money to build AI infrastructure, even as competitors have pulled back.
- PPG Industries (No. 226), the world’s second largest coatings producer, should be more resilient to tariffs, CEO Tim Knavish said. “If you look at our U.S. businesses, our top 30 suppliers for our U.S. businesses, zero of them are Chinese.”
