Flight Plan with New Weather Info on Your Computer
NEW GARMIN PILOT™ WEB FEATURES NOW AVAILABLE
October updates announced for Garmin Pilot Web users include five new weather information features — plus flight leg distances and fuel required information that can be overlaid on the map’s route segments. Check out the latest tools we’ve added to make the Garmin Pilot Web platform even better for VFR and instrument pilots alike.
Dragging the playback bar forward at the bottom of the screen now lets you view a future radar display to see how projected precipitation and storms may impact your route of flight.
Found by clicking the radar button above the playback bar, this feature shows storm top heights, so you can plan the best weather avoidance route and estimate the strength of storms building ahead.
This new weather layer depicts the altitude of the highest precipitation returns showing on radar, which can help you gauge the relative intensity of storms being tracked.
What visibility conditions can you anticipate? By dragging the playback bar forward, you can access this feature to see current and forecast visibility on the surface.
With Garmin Pilot Web, many great features are available free to nonsubscribers. But if you want the fully seamless, synced web-to-mobile experience, a Garmin Pilot app subscription is the way to go. You can even try it free for 30 days.
