When you’ve been hunting since you were six, or seven, you remember what worked—and what didn’t. Toxey Haas, founder of Mossy Oak, recalls:

It was my first memory of LaCrosse boots. That was kind of almost a rite of passage along with a .22 rifle or a double-barrel 20 gauge. It was standard issue. I mean, and quite honestly, back in the day, where I grew up hunting, it was almost as common to have a pair of LaCrosse hip boots as it is, just knee boots because of the river swamp. So, most of the older men had an influence on me that were those great old school turkey hunters. I can still remember as a kid them talking and raving about how the ankle fit was so much better than any other boots.

And so, for all my life, you know, when I wear a pair of rubber boots, it’s been LaCrosse forever.
