Hi there,
I promised you something big was coming. And today, I'm so excited to finally share it with you.
We're launching the Madam Sew Port Pillow Challenge in partnership with Beyond Basic Needs, a nonprofit that provides care kits to cancer patients across the country.
Here's what we're doing: Together, we're going to make 1,000 port pillows for people going through chemotherapy.
If you're wondering what a port pillow is, let me explain. Many cancer patients have a small port implanted under their skin near the chest. It's how they receive their treatments. But that port is tender and sensitive, and something as simple as a seat belt pressing against it can be really painful.
A port pillow is a small cushion that attaches to the seat belt with velcro. It protects the port and makes car rides comfortable again. It's a tiny thing that makes a huge difference. And here's the best part: for every pillow you make and send in with our tracking form, Madam Sew will donate $1 to Beyond Basic Needs.
The challenge runs from now until September 15th, 2026. Whether you make one pillow or twenty, you're part of this.
I've put together everything you need on our challenge page: one free pattern, video tutorial, shipping info, and guideline. It's all there.
