Hi there, Earlier this year, I stumbled upon Nonchi cashmere at an industry trade show, and it was love at first touch. Nonchi was founded by Famke and Sander, an amazing team out of Amsterdam, and their product was unmistakably special. | | | | |
Famke and her grandmother, who inspired Famke to start Nonchi. | | There is a lot of “luxury washing” in cashmere these days, but very little of the world’s cashmere actually comes from the Kashmir/Himalayan region in India, where the high altitude and harsh climate causes the cashmere goats to produce a finer, more durable undercoat than those in other regions. This results in a yarn that’s ultra luxurious. | | Cashmere goats in the Himalayas. | | Until Nonchi, I had never come across luxury-grade cashmere at such a competitive price point, and immediately purchased a couple of their pieces for myself: - The Kensington coat: Is there anything dreamier than a cashmere coat? The other cashmere coat I own—and love—is this one from Max Mara. This Nonchi one is a fraction of the price and does not disappoint. This tobacco color is “chef’s kiss!”
- The Havn sweater: This has already become my go-to pullover. The elongated ribbing on the sleeves is subtle but elevates any outfit.
